Cate Blanchett may soon transform into Lucille Ball on the big screen.

TheWrap reports that Blanchett, 46, is teaming with Aaron Sorkin in an authorized biopic of the Hollywood star. The movie is expected to follow Ball's 20-year marriage to Desi Arnaz and their time on classic sitcom "I Love Lucy."

Reps haven't confirmed the buzzy news, but TheWrap says Sorkin is set to write the screenplay. Sorkin was behind Oscar-winning "The Social Network" and also wrote the new "Steve Jobs" movie starring Michael Fassbender, which comes out on Oct. 9.

Ball died in 1989 at age 77.
