Cara Alexander, Va. high school teacher, arrested for allegedly sexting 17-year-old student

(CBS) Newport News, Va. - Cara Alexander, 27-year-old high a school teacher, was arrested Friday for allegedly sending nude pictures of her to a 17-year-old male student, according to CBS affiliate WTKR.

The English high school teacher was reportedly investigated by the special victims unit. After the investigation, she was charged with six counts each of using a communications system to facilitate offenses involving children, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor and one count of taking indecent liberties with a minor, according to the station.

According to Newport News Public Schools, school officials will terminate Alexander's employment. They are also suggesting her teaching license to be revoked, reports WTKR.
