Calendar: Week of August 4

Here's a look at the week ahead on our "Sunday Morning" Calendar:

Monday marks 70 years since the Gestapo seized Anne Frank and her family from their Amsterdam hiding place and sent them to a concentration camp. If she had survived, Anne Frank today would now be 85 years old.

On Tuesday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visit the Tower of London to unveil a memorial marking Britain's entry into the First World War . . . 100 years ago this week.

On Wednesday a federal appeals court hears same-sex marriage cases from the states of Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Thursday marks the beginning of the Iowa State Fair, including rides, musical acts and, of course, the fair's trademark 600-pound butter cow.

Friday sees an auction of the panels "Calvin and Hobbes" cartoonist Bill Watterson drew for the "Pearls Before Swine" comic strip earlier this year. (The proceeds will benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.)

And on Saturday, President Obama and family leave the White House for their annual summer vacation on Martha's Vineyard.
