Cagle's Alternate Oscar Nods

Oscar fever hits in earnest Tuesday morning when the Academy Award nominees are announced. The front-runners this year include "There Will be Blood," "No Country for Old Men" and "Juno." But what about the other great films of 2007 that won our hearts but aren't considered "Oscar-worthy"?

People Magazine executive editor and Early Show entertainment contributor Jess Cagle paid tribute Monday to films and performances he says are stellar, but probably won't make the Oscar-nominees cut.

His picks:

BEST PICTURE
"3:10 to Yuma"

BEST ACTOR
Matt Damon for his role as Jason Bourne in the actioner "The Bourne Ultimatum"

BEST ACTRESS
Amy Adams for her role as Princess Giselle in the comedy "Enchanted"

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR
Michael Cera for his role as Paulie Bleeker, the teenage father out of wedlock, in "Juno"

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS
Marcia Gay Harden for her roles as Mrs. Carmody in the horror film, "The Mist"

Cagle gave his reasoning in a discussion with Early Show co-anchor Julie Chen Monday. To see the segment and get his reasoning,
