Beyonce Looks Forward To Her 'B'Day'

Beyonce Knowles doesn't like to waste time. Instead of taking a vacation after a six-month shoot for her film "Dreamgirls," the tireless actress and singer decided to go into the studio and work on her next album.
That's because to Beyonce, being on a film set is vacation, sort of. "Just being in one place for six months was a break for me," she told Billboard in the magazine's latest issue, on newsstands June 16. "It's different from being on tour and traveling non-stop. So when the film was over, I was ready to work on my music."
Not even her manager and father, Mathew Knowles, knew about her plans. She didn't bother to tell her label Sony Urban/Columbia records, either.
The album is titled "B'Day" and will be released internationally on Sept. 4 — her 25th birthday — and in the U.S. on Sept. 5. Beyonce promises that it will be a departure from her previous solo album, which earned her an armful of Grammy awards.
"This album is different," she said. "It's conceptual, and I do things with my voice that I haven't done before."
The songs on "B'Day" have a common theme, focusing on the ups and downs of relationships. For example, Beyonce complains about some men's bad behavior. "Like you teach him everything, you take him to all your favorite clubs," she said, "and then he gets another girl and takes her there."
Beyonce, whose long-term love is music mogul Jay-Z, said she's content with a love life she referred to as rather "boring."
"I'm happy in my life," she said.
Her father is happy she's happy, but he would like to see her take it easy at some point.
"It's also important that she take some needed time off," he said. "She's ignited and she has a passion. Passion is a key word for Beyonce."
