ATLANTA (CBS/AP) A 21-year-old woman apparently running from a life of prostitution was beaten and caged like a dog for trying to escape.

Police say five people, including alleged pimp David Lee Walker, are charged with beating the woman until her eyes were swollen shut and she had a hole in her head from being hit with a bottle.

The victim was then forced into a 3-by-5 foot dog cage and kept there overnight, reports CBS affiliate WGCL.

Walker allegedly found the woman trying to escape and brought her back to the Rodeway Inn off of Fulton Industrial Boulevard in southwest Atlanta, an area known for prostitution. He allegedly ordered four prostitutes to beat the victim.

WGCL reports Walker sent cell phone pictures of the caged woman to other pimps.

The station says police received a tip that led them to the victim in a hotel room.

The four women charged in the alleged beating are identified as Amber Knight, Whitney Luckett, and Robertenette Gordon-Deaver, all 24, and 20-year-old Keyanna Powell, all accused of aggravated assault, police said, Knight is also charged with false imprisonment.

The victim was released from Grady Hospital Saturday.

Now it's Walker and his alleged accomplices that are locked in a cage. Walker faces assault, battery, kidnapping and pimping charges. All the suspects are being held without bond.
