NEW YORK (CBS) "American Idol" alum Asia'h Epperson has been released from jail after being arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman at a Hollywood nightclub, according to a celebrity website.

Epperson and her sister allegedly assaulted another club-goer early Thursday morning at the Colony Night Club in Los Angeles, according to TMZ.

Epperson, looking oddly happy with her police-issued jewelry, was seen being escorted out of the club by police around 2:20 am. She was released from custody a few hours later.

The victim complained of bruising and pain and says she will press charges, reports the website.

Epperson briefly spoke to paparazzi as she walked out of the police station with her sister and explained her side of what happened and showed off the cuff marks on her wrists, according to video obtained by the website.

When asked which experienced was tougher, facing "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell or going to jail, Epperson cheerfully replied "um, probably Simon Cowell."

Epperson was a contestant in 2008 on American Idol and made it to the top 24 before being eliminated.
