(CBS News) Ashley Olsen says her acting days are over.

The 25-year-old, who rose to fame with twin sister Mary-Kate on "Full House," told ELLE U.K. that she has no plans to resume that part of her career.

"We worked non-stop until we were 18," Olsen told the magazine, according to Us Weekly. "Then we decided to take a break and go to school - and that was when we decided to question whether we would carry on in entertainment."

"It was time to step behind the process. I wanted to work on other things," she added. "It doesn't mean I'm not interested in Hollywood, I like the way it operates and the people who are involved and the sense of possibility. But if I ever do get back in, it's not going to be as an actress."

The Olsens made their debut on "Full House" at just nine months old, and continued to act up until their 2004 film "New York Minute." The duo now runs a fashion empire that includes the lines Elizabeth & James and The Row.

"It just felt right to move away," she said in the interview.

Meanwhile, another Olsen sibling is gaining momentum in her own acting career - younger sister Elizabeth Olsen earned critical praise last year for her role in the film "Martha Marcy May Marlene." She appears next in the horror flick "Silent House," which opens in theaters Friday.
