Amanda Brennan, Las Vegas high school teacher, charged with luring a minor, report says

(CBS) LAS VEGAS - A high school teacher has been arrested for allegedly having an improper relationship with a student, that included taking him to the movies, according to CBS Las Vegas.

Amanda Brennan, 24, reportedly went to the movie theater without him having parental permission. They allegedly exchanged hundreds of text messages in an 8-day period this month.

Brennan told police that she loved the student and that she knew the relationship was wrong. According to the station, she also admitted engaging in kissing and cuddling.

A Clark County School District spokesperson told CBS Las Vegas Brennan is on paid administrative leave. She started teaching with the district in January of 2012.

According to the Las Vegas Sun newspaper, Brennan was charged with two counts of luring a child and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
