Advice for Stressed-out CEOs

stress.JPGJust how stressed out are CEOs and what can be done about it?

Dr. Bin Yang, founder of The Prince Synergy, LLC., may have some answers. Studies show that just about all CEOs suffer some from of stress from handling their many responsibilities. Symptoms include nervousness over the bad economy or sleeplessness caused by worry about internal management problems.

A recent example is Steve Jobs, Apple CEO, whose worn-down appearance recently was the cause of much discussion.

Yang has some ideas about how to handle C-Suite stress:

  • Physical exercise.
  • Meditation regimes such as Yoga.
  • Mentally forcing worrisome thoughts to the subconscious so CEOs can sleep at night.
  • Breathing exercises.
  • Routine breaks during the work day.
Yang also suggests not always going along with mainstream medicine, noting that he had to intervene to save the life of his mother who was in an intensive care unit after a car wreck. He says that many sources should be considered to reduce stress. Check out his article in Chief Executive magazine.
