911 Call: A Family is Shot but All Is Not as It Seems

INTRODUCTION
Sugar Land, Texas, Dec. 10, 2003

The Whitaker family of four was gunned down in their own home. The 23-year-old son, Bart, called 911. But soon after, police began to suspect Bart's story was not what it seemed.

CONCLUSION
Bart Whitaker's father survived his wound but his mother, Trisha, and brother, Kevin, died. Bart was convicted of masterminding the shooting with the help of two buddies he worked with at a local country club. The motive: his parent's million-dollar insurance policy. The shooter, Chris Brashear, will be eligible for parole after serving 30 years. The getaway driver, Steven Champagne, is serving a 15-year sentence. Whitaker received the death penalty and remains on death row.
