50 Cent Files $1 Million Lawsuit

Rapper 50 Cent has filed a $1 million-dollar lawsuit claiming that an Internet advertising company used his image without permission in a violent game.

The game called "Shoot the Rapper" shows a character walking back and forth in an ad across the top of a Web page. The viewer is encouraged to shoot him by aiming and clicking with the mouse, with a $5,000 prize as a lure.

The game doesn't use 50 Cent's name, but in the words of the rapper's lawyer: "It looks like him, and there's no doubt the character is intended to be him."

The ad appeared on myspace.com pages, and received notoriety when the banner ads appeared at the time of the Virginia Tech school shooting tragedy.

The lawsuit names Traffix Incorporated of Pearl River, N.Y., as the defendant. A lawyer for the company isn't commenting.
