Kennedy Center board votes to add president’s name despite questions over authority

A new sign was installed at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., reflecting a board vote to rename the facility to include the president’s name. The board, which includes many members appointed by him, approved the change, though it’s unclear whether it has the legal authority to rename a center designated by Congress as a memorial to President John F. Kennedy.
