MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A woman has been taken into custody without incident following a serious threat to harm herself and others.

Miami-Dade Police responded to a report of a barricaded subject at 14950 S.W. 157th Terrace that began Wednesday morning.

According to police, the woman was served with papers to vacate her home and called 911 to say that she refused to leave.

"The woman said she would not vacate the home, and if confronted, she would shoot at responding police officers and blow up the house with herself and her mother in it," said Miami-Dade Police.

Officers were initially unable to make contact with her as she barricaded herself, and her mother, inside the home.

About four hours later, hostage negotiators and the Special Response Team persuaded her to surrender. She walked out with her hands up and no one was hurt.

Authorities said the woman was taken to Ward D for a psychological evaluation.
