"The way I look at it, Joe, is that it's kind of an insult to the institution of managing," Sports Illustrated's Tom Verducci said on Dan Jennings moving from Marlins GM to Manager on the Joe Rose Show. "You really take just about anybody, no experience necessary, and put that person in the dugout and I think that really undervalues what it takes to run a big-league game, to run a clubhouse, all the things that go into a very difficult job.

Is there any chance Jennings returns to the front office by season's end?

"Yeah, I think there's a chance there," Verducci said. "Already you're starting to hear rumors about the return of Ozzie Guillen. He's still on the payroll. I don't think Jeffrey Loria wants to pay another manager during the course of the 2015 season."
