UM Willing To Adjust Al Golden's Contract

MIAMI ( – The University of Miami Hurricanes have been in contact with the agent for head coach Al Golden about making adjustments to his contract, according to

Golden has been frustrated with the school after he was not told about the full scope of the Nevin Shapiro scandal. Golden is currently in the first year of a reported five-year contract worth $10 million.

Golden's agent, Brett Senior, also told that the head coach can get out of his contract with the University of Miami based on the severity of the looming NCAA sanctions.

While UM's concern over Golden leaving may center on the Nevin Shapiro scandal; he also could have eyes for one of the biggest jobs in college football, Penn State.

Golden is a 1991 graduate of Penn State and the head coach of the Nittany Lions, Joe Paterno, is not getting any younger. Paterno, 84, is likely coaching his last or next to last season in Happy Valley.

If he retires, Golden's name will likely shoot to the top of Penn State's wish list.

The Hurricanes had no comment on the reported contract overtures with Golden.
