Total Solar Eclipse Coming

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A total solar eclipse is set to take place next month but unless you're in Asia, you won't get to see it.

The total solar eclipse will take place between Tuesday, March 8th and Wednesday March 9th.

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between Earth and the Sun, totally or partially obscuring the image of the Sun for a viewer on Earth.

This eclipse will only be visible across an area of Pacific Ocean, beginning in Indonesia, and ending in the northern Pacific Ocean.

Solar eclipses happen on average 2.4 times a year.
