Tens Of Thousands Beach-Bound For Lauderdale Air Show

FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – There will be almost much traffic on the ground as there will be in the skies over Ft. Lauderdale Beach as tens of thousands are expected to look to the skies Saturday for the first of two days of aerobatic displays with the return of the Ft. Lauderdale Air Show.

A preview Friday gave the public a chance to see what's on tap for Saturday's show, which is expected to face a small chance of rain.

The show hits the high skies Saturday and will be headlined by the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and will include the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles Flag Jump, the U.S. Navy Seals Leap Frogs and demos by the U.S. Coast Guard Search & Rescue Team, as well as the Black Diamond Jet Team and the Red Bull Air Force One.

If you plan to go, a number of roads have been closed. If you are not planning to attend the show, organizers strongly suggest you avoid the area.

There are multiple ways to enjoy the show. For the optimal Air Show experience, audiences can purchase VIP tickets, boat owners can purchase a WFTL 850 Air Show Radio and watch the show from the shore line, and families who want a view of the show can arrive the day of and find a spot at the Family Zone at no cost.
