WEST PARK (CBSMiami) – A person was shot early Sunday morning outside of a house in West Park.

A party was taking place at 1810 SW 48th Avenue when a car drove up and opened fire on the home.

A neighbor witnessed this and proceeded to take out his gun and open fire on the vehicle, which then fled the scene.

The person that was shot sustained a non-life threatening wound to his leg.

He was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment.

Police arrived soon afterwards and established a perimeter but a search to find the shooters was unsuccessful.

A violent crimes unit and a crime scene unit are investigating the incident.
