Tampa Man Killed By Sheriff's Deputies
TAMPA (CBS4) - A Tampa man died after he was shot sheriff's deputies who went to his home Saturday evening to check out a report of a domestic disturbance.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, just before 11:30 p.m. Michele Sebasco called for help. Her husband, Osmar, then got on the line and reportedly made several threats and told the operator he was holding his wife at gunpoint and would hurt anyone who came near him.
When officers arrived at the Sebasco's apartment building, they took cover behind their cars and tried to make contact with him. Minutes later Michele Sebasco ran out of the couple's second floor apartment, her husband right behind her.
The sheriff's department said he then fired several shots at the deputies who returned fire, their rounds striking Sebasco. The deputies and Sebasco's wife were not injured in the exchange of gunfire.
Sebasco's wife told investigators he has not been taking required medical and had been making suicide threats.
