Sports Agenda For Thursday (7/28/11)

Big Story:
So much to get to including Reggie Bush maybe coming to the Dolphins, Kyle Orton maybe not coming to the Dolphins, the Dolphins can't get out of their own way, the Marlins win again, and UNC is a lot less Butch today.
Hitting this like Allen West driving a car over seniors, here comes the agenda.

Marlins: (@ Washington, 12:35 p.m., Fox Sports Florida)
Don't look now Marlins fans but the team is just two games below .500 going into today's game against the Nats.
The Marlins have been led by the clutch hitting of Emilio Bonifacio, who has his average just .003 below .300 for the season.
Bonifacio waited until the eighth inning of last night's game, but managed to extend his hitting streak to 25 games.
Mike Stanton continues to drop dingers like John Boehner dropping federal aid to everyone.
Stanton has 23 on the season and also has 61 RBI's.
The Marlins can sweep the Nationals today, and depending on the Mets performance today, could claw to just 1 game behind the Mets for third place in the National League East.
For a team that choked so hard in the month of June, getting to .500 and into third place will be quite an accomplishment in just one month.
But, the best the Marlins could hope for is to catch the Braves.
The Phillies are just flat out dominating. They are 27 games over .500 and have won 65 games before the end of July.
FYI: still no information about the status of Josh Johnson, but according to Marlins.com, he will miss the rest of the season.
Ruh-Roh!

Dolphins:
Wow, where to start with this group of bungling owner, general manager, team execs, media relations people…it's a franchise that has become laughable.
Here's where they are right now in their pursuit of their new free agents.
The Fins were set to deal for Broncos starting quarterback Kyle Orton throughout the day yesterday.
Then, the deal seems to have fallen apart over night.
Why you ask?
Well, the Fins wanted Orton, Orton wanted to come to Miami, Denver wanted to trade Orton. Sounds like the perfect match right?
Except…the Broncos want a second or third round pick for Orton and Miami was only offering a fourth or fifth round pick for him.
So, the stalemate stands and now Orton is set to take first-team snaps with the Broncos this morning in Denver.
Plus, the Fins would have had to pay Orton long-term dollars which would have had to be part of the negotiations as well.
Now, let's think back a few months…..
Dolphins owner Steven Ross tried to acquire Jim Harbaugh before having to come back and save face and stick with Tony Sparano.
Now, Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland has pulled the same stunt and may be stuck with Henne.
BRILLIANT!!!
And if that's not enough, the Dolphins acquired Reggie Bush from the Saints.
Yes, that Reggie Bush who ran for about 150 yards more than I did last year.
The same Reggie Bush who single-handedly brought down the USC Trojan football program for his sense of entitlement.
The same Reggie Bush who has missed 20 games in his career.
He's going to catch passes and return punts for the Fins, assuming he doesn't pull a hamstring or twist his knee heading into the team's facilities.
Look, maybe Bush comes here and plays on natural grass and has a career renaissance, but based on his history that's not likely.
So Dolphins fans, with the dearth of talent that's been available out there….you may get a grand total of Reggie Bush.
But hey, if Orton doesn't come, there's always team obliterator Vince Young out there on the market.

NFL Player Movement Update:
Here's an update from yesterday's list….and there will be a test later in the day webteam!
