Section Of State Road 7 Closed After Sewer Line Break

MARGATE (CBSMiami) – Drivers in Margate take note – section of State Road 7 is closed to traffic while workers repair a sewer main break.

The rupture in a 14 inch line happened Thursday morning in the 800 block of North State Road 7.

City crews quickly contained the spill and drained what they could.

The northbound lanes of State Road 7 from Atlantic Blvd. to Margate Blvd. are closed to traffic while crews place a steel plate over the affected area. Once the steel plate is put into place, one northbound lane will be re-opened and the two right hand lanes will remain closed for a couple of days, while the sewer main is being repaired.

No residents were affected by the spill and no boil water order was issued.
