Residents Forced From Burning Hialeah Apartment Building

HIALEAH (CBS4) - Firefighters scrambled to get everyone out of  Hialeah apartment building which erupted in flames late Wednesday night.

The fire started at the building on the 1000 block of West 77 Street  just after 8:30 p.m.

Hialeah Fire Lt. Espinosa told CBS4 News that all 50 units in the 4 story building were evacuated, but everyone was able to get out safely.

Fire officials determined the fire started in a second floor apartment, though the cause is still under investigation.
