Police Looking For Fla. Driver Who Dragged Man 300 Ft.

LARGO (CBS4)-Authorities are searching for a southwest Florida driver who hit a 28-year-old man, dragged him 300 feet and then left the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Richard Slate was standing on the corner of the road Friday night when a vehicle making a sharp turn veered off the road and hit him.

Slate was trapped in the vehicle's undercarriage and dragged 300 feet until the vehicle reversed and freed him. Slate was in critical condition.

A description of the vehicle involved in the crash was not available.
