Police ID Body Of Woman Found In Burned Out Mercedes
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The body of a woman found in a burned out car in Hialeah last week has been identified.
Hialeah police said Megan McNulty, 22, was one of two bodies found in the trunk of a burned out Mercedes-Benz in an industrial area of the city at West 80th Street and 21st Lane.
CBS4 news partner El Nuevo Herald is reporting that a source close to the investigation said McNulty and the second person, Georbel Gonzalez Rodriguez, 25, were shot execution style before the car was set on fire.
Detectives suspect the murders may be drug related.
Investigators suspect that McNulty and Rodriguez were shot elsewhere. Their bodies were placed inside the vehicle and then driven to the industrial location where the car was set on fire in effort to destroy evidence.
It does not appear the victims had any connection to Hialeah except being brought there to be dumped, according to police.
