"Person Of Interest" Sought In Deadly Little Havana Shooting

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The search is on for a 'person of interest' in a Little Havana shooting which left one man dead.

Just before 7 p.m. Wednesday, two men went into an apartment in the 900 block of SW 2nd Street, according to investigators. Moments later gunshots rang out.

When officers arrived they found the body 23-year old Robert Cantillo who had been shot multiple times.

"He was really nice, how could somebody shoot somebody for no reason," said Dayani Prieto, a friend of the man who died.

Police said Cantillo and the other man who they are looking for were let in by the people who lived there.

"According to the on scene investigation the man that was shot and killed inside the apartment had come here to visit. It appears that there was a family inside the home when the shooting took place," said police spokeswoman officer Kenia Reyes.

After the shooting, Cantillo's companion took off.

"We don't know exactly what his name is just yet, but definitely he is linked to this homicide and we're just calling him a 'person of interest' at this point," said Reyes.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
