NFLPA Heads To Court Again
MIAMI (CBSMiami.com) – The Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals hasn't ruled on the NFL's appeal of a stay of the NFL lockout, but that hasn't stopped the NFLPA from returning to court to get more money out of the league.
The players asked U.S. District Judge David Doty for at least $707 million in damages over the league's war chest that was set up by renegotiating TV contracts in 2011. The war chest contained about $4 billion.
Judge Doty has previously ruled that the league left money on the table and failed to maximize revenue for the players.
The players said the new contracts were reached to fund the lockout. Judge Doty had previously stopped the league from using the war chest.
If the players win again in front of Judge Doty again, it will also go to the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
