HOMESTEAD (CBSmiami/AP) — NASCAR fans in town for this weekend's Sprint Cup Series championship and season-ending Ford EcoBoost 400 will get a free ride - of sorts.

The Homestead National Parks Trolley will provide round-trip transportation Thursday from the Homestead-Miami Speedway's RV parking lot to Biscayne and Everglades national parks.

The trolley will depart to Biscayne National Park at 10:30 a.m. and 1:20 p.m. and to Everglades National Park at 9:00 a.m. and 1:54 p.m. Entry to both national parks also is free for the trolley riders.

Homestead Vice Mayor Stephen Shelley says he hopes the thousands of families who attend the race events "get a taste of something they normally wouldn't get to see."

The trolley service linking downtown Homestead with the parks began in January. Two trolleys will operate on weekends from November 22nd through April 26th.
