Miami's New City Manager Sworn In

MIAMI (CBS4) - Miami officially has a new City Manager.

On Monday morning, Tony Crapp Jr. was sworn in as the City Manager.

Crapp, who is a former Chief of Staff for Mayor Tomás Regalado, was appointed to the position by Regalado last month and unanimously approved by the City Commission.

Crapp replaces Carlos Migoya, who he worked with for the past 10 months, overseeing some of the city's largest operational departments. Migoya is leaving the top spot to return to the private sector.

The new City Manager steps into the role while the City of Miami faces a huge budget gap, depleted reserves, an ongoing investigation into the city's finances by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and contentious relationships with its fire and police unions over pay and pension cuts.
