MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Miami Beach Police are giving those interested in law enforcement the chance to be part of the force.

For the first time in years, Miami Beach Police is recruiting non-certified police officers in a rare opportunity to join the department.

Officers are holding a recruitment fair Tuesday in an effort to get the word out and invite those interested. The event is being held at Miami Beach City Hall until 7 p.m.

Those wanting to apply have to be at least 21-years old, have a bachelor's degree, be a U.S. citizen and have a valid driver's license.
