Marlins Fall To Angels, 6-5

MIAMI (AP) - Mark Trumbo hit a two-out RBI single in the 10th inning, and an uncharacteristic succession of clutch hits helped the Los Angeles Angels beat the Florida Marlins 6-5 Wednesday night.

The Angels went 5 for 14 with runners in scoring position after going 2 for 26 in those situations in the first two games of the series.

The Marlins have lost 12 consecutive games decided by one run, a franchise record. They're 2-20 in June, tying the franchise record for most losses in a month, and 1-2 since 80-year-old Jack McKeon took over as interim manager.

Angels right fielder Torii Hunter left the game in the fifth inning with bruised left ribs after he made a running catch and then hit the wall hard. X-rays were negative.
