Man Jailed For Tampering With H'wood Water Plant
A bond hearing has been set for next week for a man charged with tampering with a City of Hollywood water treatment plant. The incident has sparked an FBI investigation
The incident happened November 1st, when a man identified as Earl Davis gained entrance to the treatment plant, allegedly took off all his clothes and then turned off some power switches in a control room.
The FBI says before employees could stop him, Davis put on a hazardous materials suit and turned off more switches and a backup generator.
Davis apparently did nothing to affect the water supply.
When police arrived, Davis told them his name was "Mike Myers", the same name as the star of the Austin Powers and Shrek films.
Court records don't indicate why Davis may have done this. At a court hearing Friday, Davis was given until Monday to get an attorney and a bail hearing is set for Nov. 17.
