Man Dies Trapped In Cargo Container In Key Biscayne

KEY BISCAYNE (CBS4) -- A man trapped in a sweltering hot cargo container on Key Biscayne has died despite the best efforts of fire rescue crews.

According to Lt. Marcos Osorio, Assistant Fire Marshal Key Biscayne Fire Rescue, the unidentified man became trapped in the container outside of a home at Harbor Driver and Harbor Lane. The three-story home is under construction and it's believed construction materials for the home were inside the container.

Osorio said the man became trapped under heavy timber and other construction materials.

Fire rescue crews used a specialized saw to cut their way through the metal container in order to find the man but it was too late.

With Chopper 4 over the scene, rescue crews could be seen removing their equipment after they didn't pull anyone out of the container.
