MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Authorities in Georgia found a Florida man they say killed a woman and her two children in Miami over the weekend.
Miami-Dade police said law enforcement found 32-year-old Antwon Lamar Fair in Savannah on Wednesday. He was taken into custody with the help of other Law Enforcement agencies.
Fair was last seen driving a white 2009 white 2009 Chevy Impala - a car recovered on Monday.
Investigators said Fair shot and killed 39-year old Takeeya "KeKe" Fulton, his girlfriend and mother of three of his children, and her 19-year-old daughter Nuckeria Harris inside their home overnight Sunday.
In total, police said Fulton has six children.
They said he also shot two of her sons – 17-year-old Cory Johnson and 12-year-old Jamari Johnson.
The 17-year-old died at the hospital while the 12-year-old - shot twice in the chest - was listed in critical condition on Monday.
The other children were inside the home at the time of the shooting but were not harmed, according to the family
The shooting reportedly happened after an argument between Fulton and Fair. They were at home sleeping at about 4 a.m. Sunday when, police said, Fair opened fire.
Neighbors who knew the children are heartbroken.
A woman who lives across the street said the 17-year-old was always helpful, polite and had aspirations of being a lawyer.
Neighbors next door spoke very little English but were seen pacing up and down the sidewalk in tears.
Another neighbor said he never saw the couple argue and didn't hear the shots but saw the kids all the time and saw their mom working all the time.
At a shelter hearing on Monday afternoon, a family member told a judge at the Children's Courthouse that she was willing to take care of Fulton's three younger children who are 5, 7 and 6 months old as well as the 12-year-old child in the hospital.
Judge Cindy Leiderman ordered that the children all have grief therapy and said a home study should be conducted by the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF).
