Lauderhill Police ID Woman Found Dead In Parking Lot

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – Police have released the name of the woman whose body was found early Monday morning in a Lauderhill parking lot.

Lauderhill police have classified 30-year old Sylvie Jean's death a homicide but would not elaborate on the details of her murder "due to the open Criminal Investigation," according to department spokesman Lieutenant Mike Butkus.

Around 8 a.m., Lauderhill Fire Rescue and Police received a 911 call about a female lying in the parking lot of 3759 N.W. 16th Street. When officers arrived they found Jean's bloody body in between two parked vehicles.

"That's just crazy. This is a quiet area. I mean nobody bothers anyone around here at all. I've been in here at 10, 11, 12 o'clock at night, it's very, very quiet back here," said Ted McCauley.

McCauley works in the area and said he normally parks in the lot where Jean's body was found.

Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-8477(TIPS).
