FWC Reports 25th Panther Death Of 2014

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Florida Fish and Wildlife officials said they have found the remains of a four to five-year-old radio-collared female Florida panther.
The panther was found in the northern Addition Lands of Big Cypress National Preserve in Collier County.
Officials said they do not know the cause of death and a necropsy will be performed in Gainesville.
This is the 25th Florida panther death in 2014.
Another female panther was found Thursday in Collier County near County line Road just south of County Road 846.
The panther was struck by a car.
Officials said 19 panthers have been killed by vehicles in 2014.
