Duck Poop Problem Ruffles Feathers Of Sunrise Condo Residents
In fact, some there are demanding that Sunrise impose an all-out ban on duck feeding to protect residents' health and safety, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
The law allows ducks to be fed in Sunrise, under the condition it takes place within 15 feet of the water. Feeding outside that zone can net offenders fines of $100 to $250 a day.
"Ducks will do what ducks do. You step in it, you smell it," Frieda Raucher told the Sun-Sentinel. Raucher showed up at City Hall on Tuesday with proof in hand: 29 photos, including 15 of duck poop. A flock of neighbors fuming over the mess accompanied her to the meeting.
