DAVIE (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins have started locking down the team's 2016 rookie class.
On Wednesday the Dolphins signed second round pick Xavien Howard to a four-year, $6.1 million deal.
Howard is a cornerback, a position of need for Miami, and hopes are that he is able to join the starting lineup in the coming season.
The Dolphins moved up four spots in the second round to draft Howard, giving the Baltimore Ravens an additional fourth round pick.
Howard was a two-year started at Baylor, playing in 39 games and starting 26. He was a three year letterman, totaling 98 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 10 interceptions and 33 passes defended in his collegiate career.
