Deadly Crash On Florida's Turnpike Under Investigation

MIRAMAR (CBSMiami) -- One person is dead following a crash on Florida's Turnpike Friday morning.
Chopper4 was over the scene just before 6 a.m. where Florida Highway Patrol could be seen near a mangled car on the southbound lanes just North of Red Road.
The front portion of the car was destroyed and appeared to have hit a large palm tree. A yellow tarp could be seen thrown over the front driver's side.
The Florida Highway Patrol said 39-year Aurelia Canzoneri was killed in the crash. It is unclear what caused the incident.
