"We know this is Florida. We know elections are always close. We don't want to take one vote for granted and I can tell you from traveling with him all around the state he is not taking one vote for granted," said Christie.

The two stopped by Jacaranda Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria in Plantation around 1:00 p.m. and joined voters for an early voting rally.

Governor Scott highlighed what he calls his opponent Charlie Crist's shortcomings while laying his plans for the next four years.

"Republicans believe in the family. We make sure families get a job. We make sure that children have the chance to live the American dream by getting a great education," said Scott.

From there, Scott went to Jazziz Restaurant in Boca Raton for another rally.

Governor Scott also has some other big names supporting him like former Gov. Jeb Bush, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio and Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera.

Crist also called some big names in to support his campaign.

Former President Bill Clinton was in Tampa on Sunday to campaign for Crist who was beside him.

Earlier, Crist also attended eight Miami-area churches to mark the first "Souls to the Polls" of the statewide early voting.

Crist received an enthusiastic reception at the Second Baptist Church in Miami which was one of the stops.

The event was an effort to get church-goers especially in African-American neighborhoods to head to vote after attending Sunday services.

"People need to realize this race has consequences. You want somebody who's going to protect the environment, fight for the middle class, do what's right for the people and make sure everyone's included," said Crist.

State Senator Dwight Bullard and State Representative Kionne McGhee joined Crist.

"We're looking at bringing money and resources back to the community and so far it has been a drought with the current administration," said McGhee.

Both gubernatorial candidates may have different opinions about a lot of issues by they both stressed the importance of early voting.

"The message is just get out and vote.  Early vote.  It's very important," said Crist.

"If you have an absentee ballot, we're going to make sure you go vote.  And when you vote you're going to vote early.  And we're going to get these votes in as fast as we can so that Charlie Crist knows he will never be in that governor's office ever again," said Scott.
