According to, Rodriguez will also request a hardship waiver from the NCAA so that he may begin playing at UM immediately. NCAA rules typically force transfer athletes to sit out a season unless a hardship can be proven.

Last year at Kansas State, Rodriguez averaged 11.4 points and 5.2 assists. Against archrival Kansas, Rodriguez had 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 8 assists in the first meeting and in the second finished with 17 points, 2 rebounds and 6 assists.
