Busy Asian Restaurant Burglar Caught On Camera
FT. LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – A heavy handed burglar who has a thing for Asian restaurants was caught on camera.
Now the Broward Sheriff's Office has asked for the public's help in identifying the guy who is suspected of pulling off at least 15 other burglaries in the county.
His crime spree began on April 17th when broke into the China Chef Restaurant on State Road 7 in North Lauderdale around 11:30 p.m. Arriving deputies found the business's glass front had been shattered. The burglar threw a rock or brick through the glass door, entered the restaurant, took the money from the register and fled the scene.

Half an hour later, a suspect matching the same description, struck at three restaurants in Tamarac. First he burglarized the Pho Hoa Restaurant on State Road 7. He the moved on to the New China Restaurant and Island Vibes Restaurant, which are located in the same plaza on Commercial Boulevard. His final stop was the Tokyo Japanese Restaurant in Oakland Park.
In each case, the burglar smashed his way through each location's glass front and got away with money and a couple of flat screen TVs.
Surveillance videos from several of the restaurants show the man to be heavy set. He wore a ski mask, gloves, baggy pants, black sneakers and a dark jacket with a light colored, horizontal stripe across the chest and arms. He was carrying a backpack and possibly has a tattoo on his right calf.
