BSO: Oakland Park Man Barricaded Himself After Shooting At Deputies
OAKLAND PARK (CBS4) - A Oakland Park man barricaded himself in his home after Broward Sheriff's Office deputies say he fired shots at them, striking several cruisers.
BSO spokesperson Veda Coleman-Wright said deputies were dispatched to the home at 110 N.E. 48 St. after receiving a call about a man firing a gun into the air.
When they arrived, Coleman-Wright said, he turned the gun on deputies. No one was injured.
After opening fire, the suspect ran into the home and has barricaded himself inside. Authorities say a woman and several young children were also in the home.
A SWAT team was called in and were eventually able to negotiate with the man to turn himself in.
No injuries were reported.
