Body Found On Side Of Palmetto Expressway

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Shortly before noon police were called out to an area along the 826 expressway and the Northwest 12th avenue exit.

CBS4 reporter Tiani Jones confirmed that police have found the body of a woman.

An inmate crew was working with the Miami Gardens public works department when they spotted the body and called police.

Investigators for about an hour shut down one lane east bound on the 826, trying to figure out how to get to the body.

They eventually worked from the bottom of the hill, cutting through fencing and using chainsaws to cut through brush.

There's a service road that runs off of the 826 that police still have blocked off but it's not causing any traffic issues.
