Better Chance For Storms Through Weekend

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The past few days have been relatively dry for the so-called "rainy season," but we will start to see a better chance of storms late Wednesday afternoon.

Plenty of moisture is streaming in from the Gulf of Mexico out ahead of a stalled frontal boundary draped across the panhandle. Winds will be shifting out of the Southwest and will help to steer any storms that develop towards the East Coast Metro areas this afternoon.

Highs will be in the low 90s since we'll have more of a westerly wind component instead of the onshore breeze we've enjoyed the past few days. The front will weaken as it slides down the state and will linger across South Florida Friday keeping the atmosphere moist and unsettled through Friday.

This weekend a tropical wave may clip the area and lead to some scattered storms with highs in the upper 80s Saturday and Sunday.
