124 2 St
Miami Beach, FL 33139

This isn't a place that's easy to find––mainly because it's hidden away behind The Big Pink restaurant. With its dark, smoky and intimate atmosphere, Ted's is the very definition of unpretentious. While the word "dive" may come to mind upon entry to this bar, that doesn't mean it's dumpy; this is more of a jeans and T-shirt kind of place where you can relax and be yourself. With two happy hours, no cover charge, food, games, pool tables, a jukebox and affordable drinks, Ted's is the perfect place to "hide" from the typical SoBe crowd. The bar attracts a predominantly male clientele, which may have something to do with the all-female bar staff.

The Stage

Miami, FL 33137

This best kept secret in Midtown is quite a find. While The Stage is no dive, it is hidden under an overpass in a dimly lit part of town. The bar's cozy, coffeehouse atmosphere will draw you in and the live band will keep you here until close. The Stage has three bars – two indoor and one on the patio – all fully stocked with booze and bartenders ready to serve you. There is no smoking allowed indoors, so there is nothing to obstruct your view of the stage where they offer of live music and live theater from local artists. There's typically no cover charge at The Stage, but the pricey $12 shots will quickly cancel out the perk of free entry. If you're not looking to spend a small fortune, opt for the beers for $6 to $8.
