From support groups to playdates, South Florida offers parents tons of options to find the resources they need to help them as they go from diapers to preschool. There are several websites and outreach programs that help guide parents through the treacherous and uncertain waters of parenting.

In 2002, Miami-Dade voters approved a tax aimed at improving the resources and support system needed to help children and their families. Since then, the Children's Trust has published summer and after school program guides and helped families find the resources they need – from academic to youth violence prevention programs.

Their programs help families in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties find the best agencies available to help find the best early education programs, vocational programs, employment and college opportunities. The agency also educates families about that laws that protect the rights of children and adults with disabilities.
