Barricaded Man Apprehended After Elderly Parents' Stabbing Death

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A 55-year-old man is in police custody after authorities said his parents were found dead inside their Miami home.
Responding to reports of the elderly couple deceased, Miami-Dade Police arrived Saturday to the home at 14101 S.W. 147th Court to discover Gumersindo Perez Rodriguez barricaded inside.
Special Response Team officers were summoned and made entry into the home, eventually convincing Rodriguez to surrender himself without incident.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said the couple were stabbed to death.
"Waking up to helicopters, the SWAT team and cops running, it's really sad," said neighbor Oscar Alarcon. "People that you've seen for the last decade or so, you don't suspect something like this."
An investigation is on-going.
