MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Some travelers flying American Airlines into and out of Miami International Airport encountered delays Thursday after computer issues grounded flights.

According to a statement from the Miami-Dade Aviation Department, "American's ticketing system was down for about two hours and became operational at 1:30 p.m. This system failure affected MIA and a few other U.S. airports. Two arrival flights and 14 departure flights were delayed."

The other airports affected were Dallas-Fort Worth, and Chicago O'Hare.

The airline took to Twitter to respond to customer complaints.

The airline responded to all complaints the same, even the sarcastic ones.

Just after 1:30 p.m. American Airlines put out a statement that the problems had been fixed.

"We have resolved connectivity issues that led to a ground stop today at our Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth and Miami hubs. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to get our customers on their way as soon as possible."

The company said they had no reason to believe that the problems were related to hacking.
