The jury has acquitted former major league baseball player Jim Leyritz of DUI manslaughter in a 2007 crash that killed a mother of two. However, jurors on Saturday did convict Leyritz of driving under the influence, a misdemeanor.
A mother and daughter were shot dead early Saturday, the daughter an apparent victim of murder-suicide at her mother's hand. Dead are Shirley Campos, 49, and Patricia Campos, 11, according to Pembroke Pines Police spokesman Sgt. John Gazano, who speculates the girl was the daughter of Shirley Campos.
